A few look familiar although they seem to be living it up in Turkey in pretty nice accomodation compared to the crowded spaces that my collection lives in.

Enworb, oh yeah they are. They even have an aluminum Lighthouse brand suitcase they're sitting in. :) They're enjoying a holiday here.:)
mschipp : oh yes, it's a NCLT. It says"60th anniversary of national service" on it. It came carded and I think it's specimen finish.

karloning : that's a very good website about the tilted 1970 variety. I've also learned it from another forum member here.:)

Thanks molydeii, I have to find one on ebay or the like.

I like that coin - any pyramid reminds me of Pink Floyd, yes I know PF used a prism, but hay that is the way my mind works....

Thanks for that. I checked my 1970 fiftys and found two of the five I have are tilted. Not so rare perhaps

Pink Floyd was nice. When I was in high school it was quite a deal. Everybody loved it. :) Still have a few Pink Floyd songs I listen from times to times when driving to and from work.

I just checked mind too - also did not know about it either - I have 11 1970's and I THINK 4 are tilted.

mschipp : that's a lot of 50c's. :) all from circulation? are those relatively older commemorative 50c's turn up a lot in circulation in Australia?

The 1970 Cpt Cook is harder to find but not rare. Its hard to find because they've been hoarded so much. Most of them are pretty easy except for the 1970, 1981 and 1991. All of which are harder to due being hoarded IMO.

I do not think so any more, I might find one a year in change - and I always check my change - but I do not always know what to look for :)

molydeii - yes all from change.

I presume, 1972 and 1973 50c's along with 1991 ram's head 50c are pretty tough to find in circulation over there, that's what I had been told at leat. No 2012 coins, I think, yet. This year we're also having a similar thing for the first time perhaps, 2012 coins are very scarce in circulation.

Oh and also, it's not very obvious but there is a 2005 Mob of Roos $1 on the tray that holds one dollars, on top of it. Strangely enough I found it on the ground in Turkey, at a coffee shop. :)it's the only Australian coin I found on the ground in my entire life. :)
