In my 2010 proof set, the dollar and cent don't want to stay upright. Any way to stop this?

I don't think so. Some of the proof sets I have the coins "rattle" and rotate a bit. You can try tapping the box on a hard surface to get them oriented back to their upright position, but you might have a tough time getting them all aligned and staying put. Kind of annoying but overall really doesn't hurt anything.

Just tolerate and forget this minor problem.

It IS possible to rotate individual coins in their holders without opening, but I don't know how to handle a whole set of coins to rotate upright.

The newer proof sets with the plastic insert tend to spin more than the foam holders. The plastic case can be pried apart carefully, it's not heat sealed shut, and the coins realigned. It is just a quality control issue at the San Francisco Mint, as the coins are supposed to be properly aligned by mechanical robot arms before the cases are squeezed shut.

Yes, remove and put them in a Dansco album.

However, that may not be right for you. To be honest, you might have the same problem in an album.

In the 2010 (and newer) cases, you can open the outer lens and with a cotton gloved hand rotate the coin and press it into the vac-u-formed sheet to hold the coins in position. During shipping, the coins can loosen up and rotate and all you need to do is press them back in place. Usually if the coins are pressed firmly to the bottom of the bubble they will stay in place well.
