Thanks for the welcome and extra info IN2FISH2 only took me 42 years of collecting to get here (1st coin 1970 CC 50c in case, yeah still have it), I think I'll be getting out the scales and calipers for the florins now eh! Oddly I've had more ebay issues with non-paying buyers that the dodgy brothers sellers. You might know the type, out run every one else in bidding then not pay. I think ebay finally canned him now after he'd done it to about 20 people .... his items for sale where really obvious. He too had 1938 crowns. Anyhow, best keep on topic, cheers

My guess is that these Double Headed coins are most likely Chinese fakes, and you'll never get to see a clear picture of any of them. The Golden Goose is apparently alive and laying well!
life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved

IMO there is something suspicious going on with those accounts I link to back there Unicorn. There is six or so accounts & they all buy off each other & tell everyone how honest they are in their feedback,i smell several rats ! Were the florin you bought from them dipped ? ,they just have that look about them.

Thanks Appleangel. Totally understand where you are coming from, I linked several others with the shonky I referred to also. Like items ending late afternoon in rural Victoria and feedback being left next day in Sydney, fair dinkum, I know AusPost does a good job, but. Often the others appeared to be #2, #3 accounts for same person. On the dipped side, after reading your message I compared my florins to all the others I have of the same year and condition and fortunately they appear legit. Phew!! I've seen some at the markets which were obvious fakes and know what you mean by the dipped look. Perhaps that's why the pics of the Double here are always fuzzy.

Took him to task on the Chinese issue ..... asked him directly .... his reply .... why china? Explained the obvious to him (bucket full of 1930 pennies for a dollar .... perhaps an exageration on my behalf there). He replied, no he's the only one with them. Again, tried to clarify the dodgy pics and his source .... rather tight lipped about that, so I told him if he's the only one with them, he must be making them himself. Didn't get a yes or no to that, but got a thanks. I noted a minute ago that he's got a buy it now for $200 one ( 300764056027) which he's now added or best offer and a 99c auction ( 300765551199) and a somewhat clearer pic on each. They look like he's cast them in my opinion. I feel rather sorry for the poor buyers of his 1938 crowns as, although I don't know for sure, the pics to me suggest China. I think the $676.66 was perhaps a BS as the bid prior (as noted earlier in this discussion) was actually $666.66.
