I dont know if its 100 percent gold as it does not weigh that much I know its not gold plated though

Have you weighed it then? If it was gold it should be weighing more than a soveriegn (8 grams) but I would wager it is not gold... either it is gold plated or bronze plated I think (I have a thru'penny bit which is like that)

How have you ascertained that it is not gold plated? Pressumably you didnt file a chunk out of it and use acid on it...

There is apparently at least one gold proof 1965 halfpenny.

I typed bronze when I meant brass (doh!)

I wish the OP luck... I said I would wager against it being gold because I know how easy it is to plate and because he said it isn't heavy (gold is heavy!) but I would still like to see a nice result...

This is most likely a 22 carat plated as lots were finished in gold and sold as collector sets

Looks like one of the gimmick coins sold by the London mi** Office,Westminste*r Collection or even Coin*raft.
Avoid or get burnt.
