Counterfeit/Fake Manilla F7o Counterstamp ?

Here is one I found interesting : http://cgi.ebay.com/MANILA-FILIPINA...t_733wt_1331 Applied with a lot of force, the picture is bad but the reverse look like it has been recently applied. The host has an odd patina as well, it's just strange. What do you think about it ? Report this Post to the Staff

swamperbob Pillar of the Community United States 5362 Posts	Posted 07/29/2012 12:34 am MathieuMa You have a good eye for fakes. The host is probably real but the stamp is VERY new and quite bad. It was recently applied based on the "missing" evidence of circulation on the reverse and the fact that the coin shows no wear pattern consistent with the distortion caused by the punch. No doubt at all. It gets much harder when the forger is not a BOZO who uses worn junk coins and applies the stamp poorly. Report this Post to the Staff
