So some of you have seen pics of my stack on here. You know all those odd ball junk silver and all my 1967 and 68 ...there were 38 of them....well its all gone. Ended 7 auctions yesterday and today I went to my LCS and he actually had some silver bullion! To boot, he had lowered his price since the last time I actually saw any in there by $3oz. He had 7 engelhard 1oz bars there. I was looking at them and was going to buy 1 but he needed cash and all I had was debit card. Meanwhile a guy walks in and does the browse around and while I'm telling the shop owner I will be right back, he asks me how many I'm going to want. I thought he was gonna buy them all while I was gone. I told the shop owner to put one aside for me which he did. When I got back that 1 guy was just leaving..turns out he bought 3 of them. The shop owner tells me there are 4 left and I told him great because while I was gone I decided I wanted the rest. they were $33 each but he gave them to me for $32.50 each. Around here, the best price I can find for 1oz is $36 and for a smaller purchase, I cant but them online for that price once you factor in shipping costs. Overall I'm pleased with todays buy and also the first time seeing an engelhard bar in person....seems I'm starting a silver bar kick. oh also bought a 6x magnifying lens so I can look at my dimes closer and 2 4x6 visual aid cases to hold my mint sealed wildlife series coins in. 2 per case and it fits really nice. Looking forward to seeing the pics! I have a problem finding good price locally as well. I guess a dealer won't just give you a good deal out of the blue. You have to keep buying from him/her until he/she is willing to lower the price gradually for you. Unfortunately I don't have the financial power to build such a relationship.

I can understand with having a passion with all that is "Engelhard". When silver drooped to 26 and some change I pulled some FRN out of savings and bought seven one ounce bars for $29 each plus a $3 shipping for the lot. Next I traded some US 90% junk for a 5 ounce Engelhard poured bar. My first poured bar of any kind in my stack. Once you start stacking poured bars its a infatuation, you can't get enough of them. You will find that you will net a decent return in terms of premium with anything Engelhard. Keep stacking all that comes from our neighbors to the north. Canada has some of the finest mining/minting facility's in the world.

See I dont understand the significance behind the "bull head" I'm assuming thats what the symbol in the bottom right is supposed to be. I'm not really educated in the engelhard line up yet.

I'm not so sure, but I have seen people mentioning that the bull logos are determined to Engelhard Canada. Another use of the bull logo is to estimate the date. The serials won't help much if we don't have access to the inventory. Here is a common webpage for reference: http://about.ag/Engelhard-1oz.htmI believe there are far more varieties unlisted, both Engelhard and JM.

So according to your site, are these bars older bars? It said that they have only seen weak strikes of this bar and mine look good. And they are 5 digit serial number instead of 6. Or is this how all the bars are made today? Coincollect1 where are you.....need your wisdom. Lol.

Those Engelhard bars are mid 80's Canadian bars hence the logo. 5 digits make them rarer as they only made 99,999 obviously it seems after 150,000 the strikes became more weaker. These bars command usually $6.00 over spot to an American collector... To a Canadian collector they can be located fairly easy with some time and effort.

Don't sweat the pix, Sam. SOME of us on here have learned a little patience. I am sure that you will have them up as soon as you can. Great buy on those bars, man. That is a really good price
