KC66 New Member Canada 1 Posts	Posted 07/28/2012 10:38 pm I am rather new to numismatics however have compiled a rather large collection and am looking to sell some of my duplicates. I understand there's a Red Book for American coins, is there one for canadian coins other then the Charlotten standard? Also if anyone has any ideas about what a fair price for these 1942 tombac coins is I would greatly appreciate it. I understand a picture would be very helpful however my camera is down. These coins are in almost perfect condition maintaining original luster with no nicks or wear. I would greatly appreciate an educated guess. Thank you Report this Post to the Staff

The term tombak is derived from tembaga, an Indonesian (erroneously termed Malay) word of Javanese origin meaning copper. Tembaga entered Dutch usage concurrent with their colonisation of Indonesia (see Dutch East Indies). Likely, the term was used generically to describe Indonesian high-copper brass items, including gamelan gongs. It is one of the very few Indonesian loan words used in English, German or Dutch. Very-few come available on ebay and if someone else is interested ... costs will go-UP... Libraries tend to only have the odd newer dates ... costs are your time to track such down and copying... Archives; just to give you an idea ... the last quote was well over $1,000.00 to get a copy of what I expressed interest in... Do know the RCNA have some in their library and you might even be treated better than I was when I inquired about a report they do have ... nothing ventured, nothing gained... dts...
