I had this one slabbed by ICG, was my first slabbing experience. It was also cheap....$9 per coin. After getting this one back I'm curious if it would crossover to either NGC or PCGS. ICG gave this one a MS 65 which is the grade level in which the value of this coin jumps. What do you think could it crossover?

It could cross at 65 but probably wouldn't. The reverse issues and huge price jump at 65 would likely land it in a 64 holder at PCGS or NGC.

Still a very nice example of this better date Morgan.

Very nice coin, if it was mine I would be happy with grade you got and leave it at that.
Its all about the coin to me, not the name on the holder.

I agree with BH1964, it would probably cross over to a MS-64 with the other two graders. Beautiful obverse but that reverse will hold the grade back.

Like Captain Morgan said, best to leave it in the ICG holder.
Rest in Peace

I agree. Don't bother sinking any more money into it. It's a great looking Morgan and a different name on the slab will not change the coin.

I agree with the grade given to this coin. MS65...Beautiful luster, sharp strike, minimal bag marks. Nice coin!

I also agree with MS-65. I don't know if it would crossover. Beautiful coin!

Thanks for the opinions. I guess the investing part of me kicked in (maximize profit and all that). However I can't really maximize a profit on this one as it will be sitting in my safe and part of my morgan set. Who know's.....in 20 years ICG could be the next PCGS haha. I've seen some overgraded ICG slabs but for the most part their grading seems fair. My dad did get a 93-S morgan graded by them and I can't say I agree with the grading, it's an AG coin that looks like it's seen a cleaning.....came back problem free G-4. Randy Campbell (ICG senior grader) analyzed the coins before grading....he also stated the 93-S should be AG details cleaned. He also said this coin was a shoe in for a 64 but had a strong case for a 65 slab.
