is the scarcest

We already know the 99 is scarcest...and cents minted per year has nothing to do with it...it has to do with how many dies were made in error, and how long those dies were used. There has been a lot more research done than you realize.

Maine

I agree about how many dies. Was looking for more info myself.
So, there is a known mintage of the 99's then ?
Or should I say, how many dies were used. Where can I read this ?
Also, if any more exist would it be again logical to look
at the 97's then 2001's ?
Or is it a fact that no dies were used in 2001 ? or 97 for that matter.

Not true...never verified...and the coin was conveniently stolen before it could be sent for verification...a lot more to it than that but I'm not going to rehash it.

There are no known mintages on varieties...but there are some educated guesses.
Check out Variety Vista and Wexler's for starters.
No verified discoveries of WAM's except the three years 98-00. Never hurts to check other years because they are not done on purpose and only discovered by people that check everything.

I am on my third box this year :( wish it were more just started up again in April. I can say in one of the three boxes I found a 99 WAM a 72 DDO believed to be an 002 and a few clashes, which are my favorite, I am in western PA if that helps.
