This has to be the saddest 2 Cents in my collection. I Should know better than to buy from ebay but every now and again I will see one that looks like it might show promise. I could tell from the poor pictures on the Auction that this one had been cleaned and was damaged but not this harshly.
I saw something in the 6 so I bid VF money on it.
I don't think the owner who cleaned it had any idea what he was doing and to what.
This is a KF-4-RPD variety (Re Punched Date)which in itself is rare but this is also and earlier strike than most that have shown up as the Die crack on the REV had not yet developed.
Anyway feel free to assign a grade.

I wont even attempt this one. I will be watching and learning as comments come rolling in. It is a pity that it has been ruined by the previous owner.....

Technical = AU50 (maybe XF45 in hand)
Market = about VG (graffiti, corrosion, harshly cleaned...PASS!)

AU+ details, cleaned, graffitied - worth VF+ to EF money without the variety. The strike on this coin is fabulous!

With the rarity of the variety, this was a great buy! Congratulations!

Susan, hopefully anyone seeing this coin in hand would never pay anything remotely close to VF/XF money for this coin. Because of its problems it drops at least 2-3 full grade levels in value. A dealer could be stuck owning this coin for a looooong time if they don't price it to move.

It has a home now and and it should get along with the many other orphans in my collection.
If I ever did decide to sell Prethen is pretty much right I would probably advertise it as VG/F net and use the pictures I took and not these which were on ebay
