Hello everyone,

I have heard about this coin before and read about it on several websites. The reason I'm bringing this up is because I always wondered what would it be like if they offered these coins to collectors as they were origninally intended? Also would anyone buy them? Also considering today's collectors going after modern numismatic rarities how much would anyone think they would sell for?

Any opinions?

No, I actually don't know why they made these coins, although I believe some were brought on a Space Shuttle Mission....Then these coins were simply stashed away somewhere by the mint, never to be seen again....

I haven't heard much since they took a ride aboard the space shuttle. The way the government works, I wouldn't be surprised if they melted them down.

They are currently at Fort Knox with the 1933 Double Eagles.
