Has anyone noticed the words "In God We Trust" are missing on the Presidential dollars. I just got an email telling me this & to take a look. I can only look at the pictures the Mint put out and didn't see it? Just wondering if this is true or did the secular progressives win another battle to take God out of our country.

Here is a description from the US Mint:
These coins will feature edge-incused inscriptions of the year of minting or issuance, "E Pluribus Unum," "In God We Trust" and the mint mark. Due to the minting process used on the circulating coins, the edge-incused inscription positions will vary with each coin.

Thank you, I will look for it when I get mine. If this was true a know a lot of folks who would not buy, collect or use the coin. The uniformed are already sending emails telling people to do just that. I will respond to my email and let them there is need to worry. Thanks Again RC out

Shooter,
Oddly enough, I just finished reading, and answering, a similar email message that was forwarded on from a friend. I replied to the message, advising my friend to notify all that she sent the message to that In God We Trust is, indeed, on the coin.

Ralph, I did the same thing and replied to all on my email. A picture is worth a 1k words so I attached the picture too. Thank you for that Tapna. A lot of those folks would never understand what they were reading and seeing is believing.

It seems very strange to me that some people would not use or collect contemporary American coins if it did not include the words "In God We Trust". I really don't understand what motivates them to feel that way.

I still don't understand, Shooter. Obviously lots of people believe in God, and they might want God in their life and in the life of their country. But coins are just commerce. It seems about as absurd to me as demanding that the three letters G-o-d be engraved on all hot dogs sold. Should license plates say God on them? Report cards? Street signs? Grade A Large inspected eggs? Or do the letters G-o-d serve as a talisman when attached to money in particular, to protect the bearer from being corrupted and spending it on sinful things? I could go on, but I'm more interested in the question "Why?"

This thread started as a question about the placement of words on a coin.
Very appropriate.
Great answers given.
Now it is wandering toward a religious discussion.
Thread locked Move further discussion about religion to the General discussion area.
