This one looks pretty good except for something on the reverse. It appears to be on the surface. Any ideas of what caused it? What grade?

Hard to tell what it is in the photo. Looking at it under a glass, does it appear to be a surface smudge or are those streaks raised or below the surface?
The coin appears to be a high end AU so I'm thinking it is a smear from something. It might dip off if it is.

It appears to be on the surface. Not raised or incised. I thought cleaning was a no no.

The TPG's do allow dipping if done properly. Hate to get into the cleaning/dipping no no's here. Check the thread for E-Z-Est Jeweluster and you can decide.

to be AU-58 and a smear or streak of something that rubbed uo againt your coin or vice a versa.
If it was mine I would dip the coin but if you are anti dipping then just leave it as is.
Its a very nive coin and one I dont have but will buy or trade for one day.
