That is a good observation Wert. Yes to my understanding it is common on the notes. It has to do with the position numbers on where the note lies on the sheet of 45 notes. They seems to range from far left to far right. It 's the notes with the 10 dollar security strip on a 5 dollar note that are the keepers.
Shifting of the security strip is common. I would keep any notes where the security strip is shifted so far to the right that the barcode touches it. I saw only one posted.
I have never heard of the $10 strip on the $5 note. Does anyone have pictures?
I know that $10 were printed with $20 paper, and the watermark and security strip on the front don't match on some BTT and BTU notes.
I noticed the same shift in 20's, thanks for the info on why cownick, I would also like to hear more on the $5/$10 error, ie: series, signatures, prefixes.
Sorry Wert, I did'nt want to get you too excited. I know about the $10 on $20 note so it's just a matter off time before the $10 on $5 is discovered. Keep looking.
