This is one of my favorite coins in my collection. I love old copper and this was a steal of a buy.

Picture appears to show uneven toning but that is just lighting. Tone is an even chocolate. Also, the obverse is as sharp as the reverse, picture just slightly out of focus.

OK, the out of focus obverse had to be corrected.

ETA - and now I just learned that if I change the ppicture on what post it changes on all of them if I use the same name - cool.

Great copper, what is the grade? EF-45? One of the nicest I have ever seen.
A coin you truly should be proud to own.

I would tend towards AU, especially with that reverse. There does look like som minimal wear on Liberty's hair. Fantastic coin. Cohen-3:Die State 4.0.

I think it would be at least a AU-53 possibly AU-55.

Thanks guys, I always wanted to call it AU50+ but thought that maybe I was a little biased towards it. And THIS is why you go to estate auctions. Bought this raw at an estate auction that had about a dozen coins on it a couple years ago. I found the auction slip over the weekend, $25.

$180 coin ( Red Book list) for $25 bucks... not a bad day's wages. Nice work.

That is a great coin. I would say AU50-55 range.
