Very frustrating, we have lots of King James' bible £2 here in the NW but no Mary Rose! Wish I knew how the mint distributed their coins!

Hi Alganbagerap. Flo' nightingales are extremely common up here! Still trying to get all four of the cities £1, Belfast so many lost count, London approx 4, Cardiff 1, Edinburgh NIL!! Would have thought that there would have been a regional distribution base don the locality of the city! Or is that too obvious!

1 Florence Nightingale yesterday and 2 more today.
Did find a 2002 Commonwealth Games with the England flag yesterday as well.
So the search for Mary Rose and King James bible coins goes on for me.

I got a florence today... Mary Rose I got a couple of months back...
The St Johns I didn't see yet in London...I bought off the bay (I didn't want to but I was buying other things from the same seller so at least there was no postage)
My £2 coin collection is missing just 4 coins...these are the standard "standing on the shoulders of giants" for 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2010.
Also I seem to be missing dent shield reverses for the 50 pences 2009,2010,2011,2012.
This is frustrating me, I buy everything with notes and try to spend £2.50 at a time but no luck so far!

no 50p (dent) for circulation since 2008..... The only way to get one is sets.

That explains a lot concerning the 50 pences... with so many comemoratives in those years it doesn't really surprise me but I was just thinking nobody had bothered to update Wikipedia :P
I see the mintage figures for the £2 coins on Wiki though and lots were produced in the years that I am missing yet I cant seem to find any in my change :(

For mintage figures, I would use The Royal Mint web site - http://www.royalmint.com/discover/u...o-20p-issuedFor newer stuff which does not appear on The Royal Mint web site, I use reports from other collectors as to what is out there. Would have thought that you could find the standard £2 coins that your missing by getting some £20 bags of £2 coins from the bank and then spend the ones that you don't need. The capital cities £1 has been a real pain....I have yet to see one in circulation. Had to trade to get Cardiff and Belfast. Still need London and Edinburgh.

That Mary Rose coin is the most immaculate 2 pound coin out of all the designs, it reminds of coins you might find in treasure chests (as opposed to in circulation)
