New to world collecting, Found a local guy with an estate collection. I asked him to weigh them and he said 13lbs. What do you guys think would be a good price per pound offer?

Thanks

It's hard to say. If you know there are for sure some coins of value in the collection a little more. I have a website in my favorites that sells 10 pounds of assorted world coins for 109.99USD and free domestic shipping. If that answers your question?

25 pounds for 199.99...

He emailed me this morning saying he would take $30. Guess I will take the deal! I will post a few when I get back later.

That is a great price. I am looking forward to see what is in the collection. For only $30 for 10 pounds. Its hard to go wrong with that.

Enworb is correct. Make sure you have a world coin catalog ( even if you borrow one from your local library ) It will make looking these coins up much easier.

On the subject of World Coin Catalogs, you may want to check out a Half Price Books if you have one in your area. A couple weeks ago I picked up the 2011 Catalog of World Coins (1900-2000) for $1! I know it's dated, but for that price I couldn't resist.
