Hi all,
I received a few nice silver coins from a relative a few years back, and I'm looking to sell them now as they have no real value to me. I was wondering if anyone could advise me on their values.

The first is a 1996 5.5 oz silver proof Tuvalu $20 coin, struck to celebrate Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.

Having some difficulty uploading images so I'll pop this in a new post. For some reason I can't post two images per post, so I'll just do one side of each coin. Anyway, this one is a 1996 St Helena & Ascension Island silver proof 5 oz. $25 coin. The obverse is profile of QE II.

Would either coin have much value over that of their silver content? The reverse of the St Helena coin is particularly nice I think.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Both contain exactly 5 troy ounces of silver, so current bullion value would be about $150 for each. However, they are quite rare, there were 3000 of the Tuvalu minted and only 1000 of the St. Helena. This means they should go for a nice premium. I would figure a fair price is $200 for Tuvalu and maybe even $250 for St. Helena.

Beautiful coins, I love to hold these types of large silver proofs in my hand and feel their heft.

I saw one of the Tuvalu coins in a coin shop recently going for $225. Not sure if it ever sold or if it is still there but that may be the goin rate for that one.
