Hello, I came across this coin in a purchase of "junk" silver coins on ebay, and I'm thinking it's not real. The date doesn't look right, and it weighs only 11.6 grams. Any help would be appreciated, Thank you!

Yep, it's a fake. I would suggest contacting the seller for a return.

How are the rest of the coins you purchased in the lot?

That coin is as queer as a three-dollar bill. I know nothing at all about Liberty half-dollars and can say the lettering looks strange and the colouring is COMPLETELY off. It looks like one of those plastic coins you give kids to practice counting money.

To cwb8539: The rest of the coins are just fine, this was the only one out of 2 pounds of silver, so I'm thinking the seller may not have known.

For a fake it has a better strike than a lot of the legitimate "S" mint Walkers.

Definite fake and not a very good one. Nothing is correct about this coin.
