52Raymo Pillar of the Community United States 8529 Posts	Posted 08/10/2012 4:50 pm ...I bought these for 1.75 each off ebay. Just a pic of a reverse, not even the reverse of one of the actual coins. The listing described the 1900 as having 2.5 diamonds and the 1901 having all four. I thought what the heck and bought them for the learning experience cause thats how I roll, lol. Anyways when I looked at em it looks like something dark was applied to them. Looks brushed on actually and you can see that the brushing ended at the rims. Even brush marks. I wrote a note asking what it might be that they applied to the surface but I probly wont get a response. In the name of science, do any of you yahoo's have an idea what it might be ? It's a very dark chocolatey substance. I'm going to give the 1901 an acetone bath and see what happens. Here they are.... Oregon coin geek.....* GO BEAVS ! ! ! * Report this Post to the Staff

On the 1900 you can see faint brush marks going across the face and you can see where the brush marks end on the rim. The rim didn't quite get covered entirely and shows through.
