There is a hole in the northwest corner of the "D". There is a line that curves out from that area just to the north of primary mintmark, that re-enters the "D" as it starts to round to the northeast. Look at coppercoins 1961D-1MM-049. It look the same. I have cut way down on the light, and the pictures on my computor are darker.

The problem is that yours appears to be Machine Doubling. On the 049 the area you are pointing out is raised on the 049. I don't see that on your coin.
