Im curious if anyone here can tell me if there are any long term negative effects on silver or copper coinage if I gave them a soak in vinegar, followed by boiling water soapy bath and then serious rinse

This isn't a debate on if its a good idea to clean or not too or value changes, in someones opinion, if coins are cleaned.

This is just for my albums, wanting 1 of each date, just want to clean them up, not polish or scuff them up. Cheers!

The only long term negative effect is now the coins are worthless or greatly de-valued as far as there numismatic value.

Vinegar is 5% acetic acid so it should never be used on a coin. The one exception would be using it on dateless US Buffalo nickels, it works an an etchant to bring out the date. Damaging yes, but a dateless Buff is only worth 10 cents and pretty useless without a date anyway. Vinegar will result in ugly pink copper If you want to remove some surface contamination, use an organic solvent such as acetone- it will not interact with the metal at all.

Soaking your copper coin in vinegar (or vinegar + salt for added strength) will make your coin a weird shade of pink. I doubt that will improve the eye appeal. You'll need to give the coin a light scrub with wet baking soda to remove the pink. This method will work if the coin is not too brown. It's fun to experiment, but I wouldn't recommend this aggressive treatment on any coin worth more than face value.
