hey guys, this photo came from ebay, I bought all of this guy's world coins at just 3.99 a pound with free shipping. I saw one of the coins in his photo, here it is, it looks quite unique and possibly old. What is it exactly and is it rare? Please let me know, thank you very much :)

The lettering appears to be Cyrillic or Greek, which is a shame; because my first thought was Hungarian.

Yep, Bulgaria. It "looks old" perhaps because the monument it depicts is old: the Madara Rider, carved by the mediaeval Bulgars sometime around 700 AD. But sadly, the coin itself is modern. Since it's been featured on numerous denominations struck from yellowish metal since 1992, it's impossible so say which denomination this one is.

That poor horseman landed on his head, by the way. ;) The part that is currently at the 11 o'clock position (roughly) should be at the bottom. And yes, this is a modern coin (dated 1992 as the later ones do not have the word "republic" any more) and it should be a 1 lev, 2 leva or 5 leva piece ...
