Hi,
I found 2 washington dollars that are not the same color as the rest of them. They are very dark, and have a "antique" looking finish. What happened to them, I got them straight from the bank roll. thanks for any input :)

There are a couple of possibilities that come to mind,, the coins have either gone through a very contaminated wash at the mint or the metal alloy was a bad mix.

You may have something there in those two coins ,, do not try and clean them or alter their appearance .

Lets see what others think .

It is an interesting pattern- speckled, dark surface; clean rims. These very well could have come from the Mint like this, possibly a bad wash leaving a residue. Sometime after the wash, they ran through the edge lettering machine which "cleaned" the edges up.
Very interesting, these should be kept, more might eventually be discovered if it was a Mint problem.

I've found a few of those mottled appearance surface dollars. Also ones with little blotches here and there.

Can someone comment educatedly on "sintered planchets"? I saw the term once and thought it described planchets that were overheated at the mint. Any possibility this could be the cause?

Sintered ,,improperly annealed coins can look something like this,, however all that I have seen are more evenly discolored including the rims ,,

But your right, sintered planchet should also be considered as a possible cause.
