On of the older forum members had replied to a question of mine on how to insert a member's answer into your posting but I have forgotten because I haven't used the skill for awhile. I thought that it was Quote: insert member response [\quote] but I see it is not that could it be at the end. Please help.

In Reply or quick reply, there is a blue underlined link that says Forum Code. Click it and there's instructions for quote(scroll down, third from the bottom) and much more.
Good Luck!

I guess you can type in the quote delimiters at the beginning and end, but I do it this way.
I cut and paste the portion of post I want to include in my response. (of course this should be done when you use the reply to post option, not the quick reply)
Once you paste the information into your new post, highlight the text and click the quote tab (second to last tab on the Format line)
By clicking that tab the [/quote] delimiters will appear at the start and end of the text. That text will will be highlighted when you post your new reply.

It seems like a "reply with quote" button would be so much easier...

... to abuse. Quoting here is intentionally designed so that hopefully it is only used as necessary.

Doing it the way we do it forces one to only quote what is necessary.

I once participated in crashing an entire forum by overly abusing nested quotes.
