I like the way many Latin American coins show the weight and/or precious metal content as part of the design and I'm casually putting together a selection of examples. This coin shows weight but not silver content (it's 90%). The coinage of the Dominican Republic is pretty limited and I was pleasantly surprised to find this one on
ebay. I'd never seen one before and the price seemed reasonable so now it's mine. I read the mintage is a relatively low 20,000 pieces and the design is very attractive IMO.
What are your thoughts on grade, value, quality, and/or history?
