The first is my favourite...out of my league really...I can only afford a really crusty one of these so I haven't bought one, yours looks very crisp.
I like the design of those "educational" notes, it's a good looking bill.

Really nice notes! I agree that the Education Series is my favorite as well, but are way out of my leauge in the condition that I would want the trio in. The other notes are nice as well!

Quote: I like the design of those "educational" notes, it's a good looking bill. Educational notes (Silver Certificates) in my opinion are the most fabulous & fascinating designs ever printed on US paper money. However, to obtain high graded ones (XF & above), you need to stop paying your liabilities (rent, loans ...etc) for "months" and save the money to purchase them! Eventually, prison is the most likely place that I would end up in, but I think that I wouldn't mind!! Cheers

I remember reading years ago that these "educational" notes had the purpose of bringing history to the many people who could not read. That they captivate collectors over a hundred years later is a tribute to the creativity of the times.
Very nice collection, James4444.

James4444: You are right; they ARE indeed for my viewing pleasure. That is a very nice selection of notes.
Why don't they produce these types of classic designs in multi colour, on Mylar?

Since I'm relatively Worldwide Banknotes collector, I've noticed that classic & pre-1960s notes for most countries used to be more focused on artistic, remarkable & creative designs & drawings. Look at France or Greece notes for instance (pre-1960s), they were fabulous & superb by all means (as if you're visualizing paintings for Pablo Picasso or Vincent Van Gogh!!) Modern issues are focused on "formality" (in my humble opinion) Yet, that does NOT mean beauty isn't visible in modern issues. But comparing to classic ones, it wouldn't stand out (again, in my humble opinion) Cheers

Banknotes today should have grammar tips. And math. Heck, even some constellations on there would be neat.
Man, if anybody were to pass that $100 bill on me I'd squint at it for a while. I've always thought that that was the fakest looking bill in US history.
