Whilst I have no experience grading this coin what so ever looking at it I would say there is too much wear on the obverse to be VF. But rate my opinion as highly as a drunk, blind monkey.

From what I have read the Swiss are VERY tough on their own coins. I don't think they would call this VF.

Mind you, this was scanned through an old cardboard flip. I agree, though, that most of the hair detail is gone.

I have a copy of
Munzenkatalog.ch - Cataloguedes Monnaies publ. Zurich, 2008.

Values (in Swiss Francs), for the 1902B 5 rappen:
Fine 12, VF 20, EF 60, Unc. 140, Mint State (MS65?) 280.

One million reported struck, but I suspect that this coin is scarcer than the mintage figure suggests.

I agree with Amida17, on the way the Swiss grade their own coins.
Not quite Fine, if I was a Swiss gentleman grading this coin.
I am not Swiss. I think this coin is in Fine condition.

I think the obverse is F, the reverse VF.
