I recently made a purchase from Whitman they have a 625 piece sale. I received it today and the 600 Mylar 2X2's were the worst quality I have ever seen. They were damaged the holes didn't line up and the holes were off center. the Plastic were hardly glued on and some were not even glued on at all. I was appalled at my shipment to say the least,I have started my inquiry with them but I was wondering if any of you could tell me the best 2X2's and where to get them?

TrickyxMick, Is there a coin shop near you? I get mine from a coin shop. One hundred is $3 or $4. I hate the thick ones, hard to staple and takes up more room when boxed.

The last two batches of super-cheap "coin show purchased" 2x2s were really poor quality (same issues with loose plastic and misaligned holes), but the price was good enough for why I bought them (temporary storage until they are moved into Dansco albums).

For long term storage, I like the Cowen's and I get them from Wizard Coin Supply.

I used to buy them on ebay. but since I checked my local coin shop, I have found that it is much cheaper there. I buy them by the 100s as well. I pay $3.25 per hundred as long as I buy 500 or more. They are good quality and I can see them before I buy them.

And note that there are only so many manufacturers of those. In many instances the ones you purchase are from Whitman regardless of where you buy them. If you look at almost any 2x2, you would notice there are no manufacturer's names on them. No statement such as made in China or USA. Therefore the ones you buy could be the same ones you are complaining about. Different bathches from the same company can and usually are different.
Whitman is a large publishing company owned by Harres. They ship out massive amounts of 2x2's to dealers everywhere.
It becomes sort of like if I buy a Ford car here or there will it be the same?

Thanks everyone, The closest coin shop is about 2 hours away. I like the heavier ones if they are a better quality. I purchased some from a coin store in Spokane WA and they were perfect but again that is 2 hours away.
