This extravaganza starts on the 27th of August! How does this work? Starting the 27th of August, we all post pictures of our 1870 Carson City coins from that iconic US Mint, CARSON CITY!! And then, on the 28th of August, we all post pictures of our 1871 Carson City coins, and so on, and so on, through the 22nd of September when we post pictures of our 1893 Carson City coins!! ( Note: the jump from 1885 to 1889 since there were no CC coins minted during that gap!!)  This thread covers ALL CC coins (Dimes, 20 Cents, Quarters, Half Dollars, Dollars (Seated Liberty, Trade & Morgan!!), Half Eagles, Eagles and Double Eagles). So get your coin albums from the Safety Deposit Box, warm up your cameras, snap away millions of pictures, crop 'em, edit 'em and post 'em on the correct day! It's easy!  Proposed schedule:27 August: 1870
28 August: 1871
29 August: 1872
30 August: 1873
31 August: 1874
1 September: 1875
2 September: 1876
3 September: 1877
4 September: 1878
5 September: 1879
6 September: 1880
7 September: 1881
8 September: 1882
9 September: 1883
10 September: 1884
11 September: 1885
12 September: 1889
13 September: 1890
14 September: 1891
15 September: 1892

I will have to check, but I think the only coin I have from Carson City is one Morgan dollar. |

Carson City! Gee, why does the choice of CC coins not surprise me? The drool that this possible choice generated just about fills and Olympic size pool!  (sigh) Once again we Barber people get no respect, much like Rodney Dangerfield.  For you youngsters, Rodney was a comedian whose tag line was "I don't get no respect." Edited by matthewvincent
