I know that there is some value to the 1955 poor mans double die but do these have any value? Thanks, John1

Deteriorated die.

The 1955 "poor man's doubled die" was the result of a marketing gimmick. Someone came up with the idea of giving a common deteriorated die coin a fancy name to ride on the coat tails of the 1955 doubled die coin and now this has been part of coin collecting history when in fact, it should be tossed in the junk jar.

Mr. Diggit is correct, however there is a Fivas Stanton #2 variety for a DDO 1955 that is easily identifiable through the legend and "liberty". Not the date though, it's an often overlooked DDO variety.

I think ikandiggit is a bit too harsh. The coin is an exampled of an abraided die. Not a double die but a collectible oddity. The most famous abraided die coin is the 1937D three legged buffalo. Other abraided oddities in lincoln cents are missing statue of lincoln, floating roof memorial. These are collectible. My rule is simple, if the oddity appeals to me, I keep it.
