mad if your searches for the coins you are seeking just go 100 times harder. OMG just go the error coin section of ebay and 49 out of 50 auctions is for a prez error. These are soooooo common and the price soooooo out of whack because it's in the "news" of the General Public. There is a lot of money changing hands right now, a lot. As for my searches I have had to go to the advance seach feature and exclude the words: -2007 -George -washington -Prez -president -dollar which seems to help a bit but know I would Miss a double struck quarter DOLLAR error or an off center SBA DOLLAR. error, I'll be glad when the demand drops and the price plummets and the number of auctions for this twenty dollar error dwindles. I agree with you wholeheartedly. I hate the hype that happens whenever the Mint turns out a new product. The fact is that, for the most part, any error that comes out of there with our current circulating coinage is going to be so numerous that the best thing to do is to wait a month or so for the prices to drop like a stone. I wish more collectors realized this. The other problem, of course, is the errors that are being marketed that are not even errors. (I MUST get my hands on the edge lettering errors ).

I feel sorry for the collectors that are paying these high prices for these coins. I thought from the beginning and I still do that this is just too common from the quantity that are showing up to stay at this current price level. One thing that I have noticed is that many knowledgable error collectors are shying away from these and relunctant to jump in at these prices. That should tell potential buyers something.

Eventually even the numismasheep will start drawing conclusions from page after page of Presidential "errors." In the interim, economic redistribution will occur.

You have to blame the media for all the hype. Yesterday I was listening to the radio, when the DJs started talking about this error. They were telling the public how this error is rare. I thought to myself, now people are going to hear about this and feel they should own that "one of a kind error." It makes me sick, thinking about all those people sinking money into an error that is proving to be common.

What a deal, you could pay $600.00 now for a coin that will fetch $20.00 next year.

Spider. I think a year from now it will fetch $1.00 at least that is the way it seems to me.

Bruce you might be right. Last time I heard, they estimated around 50,000 of these errors. I wouldn't be surprised to see that figure go much higher.

I talked to a young guy at a convenience store today who was "saving up" to buy one of the Presidential error coins. I suggested he save his money and buy one for $20 (or less) in a few months.
