I want to give my nephew a silver coin for his baptism, with date and name engraved on it. I saw a site about a month ago with very reasonable price, now I forgot which site I was on. Anyone know of a good site to order from, only need 1 coin. Thanks for any info.

I wouldn't do that. Might look nice but ruins the coins. Why not just give him a Proof or Uncirc set from the Mint with the correct year. You can always add a thing for the info.

I think a common Proof or BU silver coin marking this Baptism would have more sentimental value to those involved than the numismatic value...

Google "engraved silver coins". There's a bunch of sites. Northwest Territorial Mint looks good.

Ive never used them before but I did find this which sounds like what you are looking for

After looking at it I'm not sure this would be the best way to go. They have to make dies for such a coin unless you just bought any silver coin and had it engraved. The dies look to run about 1k-2k

Several firms such as Silvertowne sell one once rounds that are designed for special occasions with a blank area on the back for engraving a suitable inscription. You can often have your local jeweler do the engraving, or sometimes the firm you buy it from can engrave it for you.
