A few months ago I purchased a 1965 Red Book at an estate sale for $2. I stuck it on my shelf and didn't look at it until a few days ago, when I noticed this in one of the pages. I think it is a 1957 South Korea 10 Hwan Banknote, and it is absolutely crisp and flawless. Could someone help me figure out if this is real, and if so, how much is it worth? Thanks, Jake.

If you're sure it is a 1957 CU then about $20 in SCWPM v.2 12th ed. (P17e). If it was a 1954, then it would be worth $90.

It's a pretty low serial #? Nice looking note!

Yes it is a P17e as Kopper Ken said. I can just about make out the number 4290 below the pagoda near the edge design.

It is a block number, not a serial number. Lots of notes printed in that block all with the same number.
