Good sellers have a fair return policy and there is nothing wrong with returning a coin that just doesn't satisfy once you receive it. You pay return postage, the seller finds another buyer, and everyone moves on. JJ Teaparty is a good dealer and they won't hold your decision against you. The stain looks to me like environmental damage bordering on corrosion but presumably was not severe enough for NGC to flag it as a problem. Eye appeal has suffered and the coin would not be worth VF-30 money to most collectors. Returning it was the right decision. Be sure to share whatever Seated dollar eventually takes her place!
