From these pictures does it look like this coin has been cleaned? Is there any major red flag you can see? I am thinking about buying this for my album. I am new to collecting for numismatic value. Trying to learn with out getting taken. What would you guys pay for this coin if you needed a 1909 VDB for yourself? Thanks for everything- Andrew.

It looks cleaned to me, Unnatural coloring(but that could be the light). If you look in the small crevices you see residue.
Has great details tho.

Color doesn't seem quite right and as CGCoins siad, there appears to be residue underneath Lincoln along the rim, but none elsewhere.

I would think any oddity in color could come from the quality of the photo too. If ever cleaned, was a long time ago. To much dirt type stuff around the lettering expecially on the reverse. I'd buy it if the price was right. Would make for a decent coin for an Album.

Thanks guys. I was thinking it looked like they didn't wanna scrub too hard to break up the gunk in the lettering so they just left it. But then again maybe not. I would think it would be darker for the price. It only about $12.00 so I'm still thinking of getting it unless I find a better one today. Does it Seem like a fair deal on the price?

Either way it's a good looking coin, as others have said.

Color is definitely off I believe this was a BN coin in high AU condition which was dipped.

Would get an AU details grade; probably worth XF type money. Still a nice example.

Unless these pictures are tricking my eyes it's been cleaned enough to hurt it. The depth has been stripped from the surface. At $12-ask, I'd hold out a little longer.

IMO it looks good whether cleaned or not (i 'll leave that to the experts), but I would keep it. It has very nice details.

Definately cleaned, flat and lifeless....pass. You can find a much better example out there for cheap. There's plenty of these in the market, take your time and find a nice one.
