Just wanted to let everyone know that my Kyra passed away last night. Some of you remember me telling about how she got sick, and I've had a few people asking how she's been. She's in a better place now, all the catnip and tuna she can handle! Rachel [:p]

I'm so sorry to hear that. She couldn't have had better care or someone who loved her more. I'll keep you in my thoughts.

I'm sorry this has happened at this time, as I know now much you loved that cat. When you hurt, we all hurt, so we want you to get to feeling better real soon. That best advice I can give you Rachel is go out immediately (by tomorrow at the latest) and pick your self a new Kitten from the animal shelter. It will be the best medicine for you and you will be saving it's life through adoption. Thinking of you tonight.

Old Dan, again, has given wise advice! As I have said many times before, "Only by reaching out can you be touched back!"

I know Kyra meant a lot to you Rachel. But OldDan's got the right idea--get yourself a new kitten and you'll feel a lot better.

Rachel, as you probably figured out by my Avatars I am a lover of animals. The loss of a pet is very hard. My sympathy goes out to you. Please consider OldDans advice and think about picking up a new kitten (or two!)They will bring you great joy in a time of sorrow. Mike

The animals that share our lives become members of our family. It's never easy to lose family. My thoughts go out to you, Respectfully Dave

Rachel,
I can't tell you sad I am about Kyra. There was a lot of love shared between the two of you and the memories will live with you forever.
It's said that your loss is really never gone until that last person who remembers is also gone. Kyra will be remembered by many of us who were able to share her life through you.
I'm sure Kyra loved you as much as you loved her. She loved being with you knowing that she always had someone who loved her and would care for her. She's in a place where there's no pain or sickness. A place where she has her own window to sit in and the sun to bask in.
Rachel, don't lose the love that you shared with Kyra. She's gone now but I'm sure she would want to love another poor kitty the way you loved her. To give the chance at life for a homeless kitty just like her.
I speak for all my kids when we pass this little note of sorrow on to you.

Rachel, nothing I can say will help you in this, your time of sorrow, but feel comfort in that you are in the company of animal and pet lovers who share your grief. I do not know what I will do when the inevitable happens to my almost-13-year-old kitten Nuisance who is my only companion, but the following site has helped some people who have just lost their pet: http://www.In-Memory-of-Pets.com/Thinking of you, Fred

Thank you all so much for the kind words- it really means a lot to me. I actually am planning on getting another cat (or two) as soon as possible. My vet's office told me that they have a kitten that needs a home there, and I may be claiming her if no one has beaten me to her. I don't think I've ever not had a cat, so I know Kyra would understand! Rachel [:p]
