I am about to make a trade and have a little dilemma, silver or gold?

1832 Capped Bust Half Dime PCGS VF35,
1835 Capped Bust Dime PCGS VF30,
and 1859 Seated quarter PCGS EF45

-or-

1926 Sesquicentennial $2.5 PCGS AU58

I know that this gold piece is not in the traditional 7070, but...

Please help!

Thanks!

Don't be a slave to the album. Buy what you like. That being said, higher grade equals nicer to look at IMHO.

I find that "Very nice for the grade" serves me well.
Agree: do not be a slave to an album.
Both gold and silver have their champions.
Agree: BUY WHAT YOU LIKE!
Can you post pictures?

Personal bias, I don't like gold. I'd go with the silver coins.

I myself would trade for the gold. The other three coins can be obtained easy enough individually but there were only 45,793 pieces out of 200,000 sold at the exposition and the unsold coins were melted. Besides that this gold piece is much prettier to look at.

My intuition is that you would like a higher grade on that bust dime. Sounds like you are having fun!

Cheers.

I just got off the phone and the gold piece is no longer available, and neither is the 1832 Capped Bust Half Dime they were on HOLD for another customer. So, I picked up a 1869 Seated half dime PCGS EF-45 in addition to the other two (1859 Seated quarter and 1835 Capped Bust Dime) and little bit of walking around money in return.

Oh well, I will post the images in another thread.

Thanks all!
