1936: the Year of Three Kings -
the year following KG5's Silver Jubilee, he died on 20 January;
KE8 ruled for eleven months before abdicating on 11 December;
then KG6 ruled until his death in 1952.
When I was a boy, in Australia, we used to see lots of KG5 pennies.
There is a theory that KG5 pennies are better balanced than later varieties, and therefore "fairer" when tossing coins for heads and tails, or "Two-Up".
