This is they way I like them to look, a PCGS VF-30 example. This is a common variety with a neat die clash, I'm not sure if it's just me or this date is very tough in general to find nice. With some extra 'meat'. Not sure if this was an omen or the fly just liked bust halves: Without the fly: Edited by ElmerFusterpuck 08/30/2012 9:35 pm

Looks like that little guy has some mint luster on him! BTW, I am after something like this myself,- the coin, that is!
Congrats, nice acquisition, small wonder you wanted to share the pics.

That is a cool coin. Is the die clash the line to the right of the fly? I'm new to the concept of die clash. Thanks .

Quote: Is the die clash the line to the right of the fly? I'm new to the concept of die clash. Yes in the left field (to the right of the fly) you can see the upside down image of the eagles wing with the wing tip ending between stars three and four. In the right field between the bust and stars 8 through 11 you can see the top of the other wing. By stars 12 and 13 you can see the end of the scroll and the last M of Unum. Above the date you can see mor of the scrol and above the first 1 you can see part of the R, the IB is above the 8 and the you above the second 1. On the reverse the strongest part of the clash can be seen from the eagles left wing past the edge of the scroll, through the D ST to the scroll above the you coming out of the scroll below I ending below the S. This is the end of Liberty's ample Bust. Other clashmarks can be seen from the end of the scroll and the right wing, and above and right of the C in 50 C. This coin can give you a good introduction to the idea of clashmarks.

How am I supposed to find this die clash on other specimens without the fly as a marker?
