>> L@@K << Why do these morons do this? It ranks right up there with the dumbest things I've seen on ebay. Let's kick the moron value up a notch, these sellers are selling silver dollars... found space for L@@K in the title but not SILVER. Gee, which one do you think gets searched more, L@@K or SILVER? Idiots. Edited by scubu 08/30/2012 2:01 pm

I actually like it when certain sellers put stuff like this in their auction titles - like "PQ MS Stunner" and " Double Sharp". It makes it really easy to look past them and not waste time.

I often search for "LatatK". What's the problem?

Another tip, some people put RARE in their title. I just do a search for rare and that filters out all the common crap people have on ebay. It's great.

As annoying as it is... it got your attention.
mission accomplished.
I agree though. I cringe and rage a little whenever I see it.

When I saw this thread, my instinctive reaction was that it was time to change another topic title. Then I noticed it was scubu and knew he was going to show me something on ebay.

People who do stuff like that probably have some early onset symptoms of Mad Cow disease. Drive past their house at Christmas time and they probably have a manger scene with a plastic Santa right next to it. OH...and the house will be done entirely in blue lights.

Generally, I don't "l@@k" at these items unless they are missing key words in their titles.
As far as eliminating the word "RARE" from search results - I don't recommend this. There are sellers who only use that word when it is relevant. For example, I have a very rare fractional gold coin that I will be listing that is truly rare with only 13-18 of this variety in existence. If I have room in the title, I will add the word "RARE" as this coin truly is rare. I also use "SCARCE" if that is truly applicable. It's a shame that dishonest/uneducated sellers use these terms incorrectly.

Don't you just love the people who use the word "RARE" in the title and description and there are about 50 to 100 other listings with the same coin with the same mint mark in the same condition?
