Yesterday on the way home from work I stopped to visit a goldsmith I know in a jewelry store that buys coins. He had a small quantity of Ikes I wanted to buy out of the cash register. I got all 22 he had to place back into circulation. I also bought the 8 rolls of cents he had paid face value for from a customer. I went through them when I got home and found one 1943-D steel cent, one 1946-S cent, one 1952 Canadian cent and one 1985 Canadian cent. All of the pre 1982 cents went into the cent jar and the rest will be rolled and taken to the bank. I can't remember the last time I got a steel cent from circulation.

Nice. Did you check the 1985 for a pointed 5?

Keep the Canadian cents as well, they have a higher copper content than U.S. cents.
