Hi, I want to get a couple of my Washington Dollars graded and get the "error" authenticated. I went to the two grading places PCGS? and another one and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to send it in, what to check mark. They use all these terms that I can't figure out. Can anyone help me or give me an explaination for either of the big companies and what the price would be? thanks! Ruth

ok, I feel stupid, I looked at the pcgs site and found "mint error" on the pricing list. I must have looked at a different site. Anyways $40 to check the error is more than I want to spend for now. I will have to wait and see if more come about, etc. Thanks anyway! :)

I also think that maybe NCG and ANACS are a little less money for submissions. However, the ROI I don't think is as good as with PCGS.
You can also check with local dealers if you have any. Sometimes you can submit a coin along with what they are submitting and get a little bit of a price break.

What is the error you're looking to get certified? If it's the blank edge, you don't have to submit those for the $40 error service. You can submit on the modern tier which is $14. Minimum submission is still 5 coins, though.

Also, ANACS would probably be cheaper, if they also certify these on their non-error tier levels. You should call them to check. If they're average BU pieces, say MS62-64, I don't think the PCGS vs. NGC vs. ANACS will make a huge difference in ultimate sames price. Even raw ones are bringing huge prices. Now remember, it will take a several weeks to get these back graded, and by that time prices for this error may have tanked, as there are going to be zillions of these available. If you're looking for the quick flip, this may be the time to sell. Or maybe not, who knows

Oh, and if you weren't talking about the blank edge, please kindly ignore the above

Is the "error" you're referring to something they will actually attribute? As far as I know, there are no errors noted with the new Washington Dollar that a grading service will actually identify.
