08/29 30 BC Ptolemy XV , son of Cleopatra VII, murdered by Octavian. He was the last king of the Ptolemaic dynasty of Egypt, the eldest son of Cleopatra VII, and possibly the only son of Julius Caesar, for whom he was named.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
08/31 12 AD Caligula (Gaius Julius Caesar Germanicus) born at Antium. He was Roman Emperor from 37 AD to 41 AD. In early 41 AD, Caligula would become the first Roman emperor to be assassinated, the result of a conspiracy involving officers of the Praetorian Guard, as well as members of the Roman Senate and of the imperial court.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
08/31 161 AD Commodus (Lucius Aurelius Commodus) born at Lanuvium. He would be Roman Emperor from 180 to 192, but also rule as co-emperor with his father Marcus Aurelius from 177 until his father's death in 180.

Since so many of us receive this email every week, does anyone see the need in me continuing to post these tidbits of history? I don't mind doing it, but if no one is interested because they already get the email, I don't want to waste anyone's time.

I think you should continue posting these as long as you feel like doing it. I've read every single one and the comments. Of course, I also get that email. I also like reading the comments here.
