I think that you may be experiencing some withdrawal symptoms because of the absolute amount paid. I have that problem occasionally myself. Don't worry about it; it will wear off. Just enjoy their ownership!
If they are uncased, it may be worthwhile hunting around for some screw capsules for them (ex modern proof sets), from a dealer. Quite often, these are left overs after breaking up modern proof sets. Have a 'phone around for them.
I have a pair of gold 1937 proof Five and Two Pounds coins in screw capsules, in a home made modified ex proof set case. The protection and presentation gained is well worth the effort.
