Just curious has there been any errors on the new Buffalo nickles? I have a lady at work that got a gold colored nickle in the change. I looked at it, it does not seem to be platted or is on the wrong stock. It felt lighter than a regular nickle.

Is it possible for you to get it from your co-worker to post a picture?

I suspect the coin has either been plated or altered with heat ,, these coins change to a gold color if they are heated to a high temp,,

and some may have been plated post mint as novelty items.
