Sorry but your coin was damaged outside the mint. It is not an error. It looks like high heat was applied to it.

It looks like a jeweler, or someone with access to a high heat torch melted the side of it.

to the CCF.

Your coin is not an error ... somehow damaged/altered after it left the USA Mint.

a butcher job. to the forum. You'll soon learn like most of the newbies that not all weird looking coins are errors. Stay on this site & you'll learn which are real errors.

It got too close to a welding torch, that was an error on its part.

After hearing this stuff silverspence, why did you then proceed to sell it on ebay as an error? Scamming people of their money I guess? Lost my respect.

LYING to buyers on ebay does not suddenly make a damaged [eBayItem]280956911788[/eBayItem] an error, that is just plain SHADY behavior

We'll never see him again (not under this name anyway.)

I hope the winner comes here and sees this thread.

It's a small, small world, silverspence!

Someone needs to start a thread with this image and we can list why it is an error & why it can't be an error. Best to know why this can/can't be will help new ones to see why/why not.

Kind of the "give a man a fish"/"teach a man to fish" anology.
