F12, questionable surfaces and authenticity. The MM looks off to me.

F-12 here also. Also not sure about that mint mark, it looks too far over to the left of the date.

I thought the mm looked suspicious too. Then compared to my first 14-D it looks very similar. I'm going to re photograph it for you guys in a little bit.

Yes, your original one is lower grade but has better color and a better strike. The second one is a below average strike with unattractive color, I'd let it go for sure.

I'm hardly an expert on LWCs, so I cobbled together some certified coins with the OP coin.
Is it just my eyes, but does the vertical stroke of the "D" look bent to the left?

The top of the entire D seems to be slanted left. That's why I didn't like it. The OP pics are too small to tell much about the MM.

The shape of the mintmark opening is one of the diagnostics for a genuine 1914-D, it should be a sideways isosceles triangular. Even if your coin is completely genuine, a damaged mintmark on a 1914-D is a bit of a sticky wicket and will only create resale problems in the future if it is kept raw.

I'm thinking F-15.
Definitely needs to be verified if you plan to sell it (IMO)
