Anything I should know or Any tips? Should I ask for something specific? I am hoping to purchase 300$ worth of pennies this pay (I know I may have to order ahead of time or go to multiple banks).

How did your request for 12 boxes of cents work out?

$300 in pennies? That's a lot and extremely heavy.

yea I realized I might've been a bit over zealous, I instead went to a few banks and pick up 2 boxes of pennies and one box of nickels. Still heavy.

How are you planning on sorting through them -- just taking the copper out or do you collect dates, errors, etc? We'd be interested in hearing about your finds!

I am sorting out errors so I am looking for 1985 1983 1979 1978 1976 and 65 and older, found a few 40's so far will give an update after I've finished the second of three boxes, the only real keepers from the nickels were a 1945 victory nickel and a 1949, no 64 extra waterline or spitting queen.

Nickels: 1945 1949
Pennies: US: 1929 1941 X2 1944 X2 1945 X2 1948 1952 D 1953 D
Canada: 1940 X2 1941 1942 X3 1943 1944 1945 1946 X3 1947 1947 ML Blunt 7 1949 off denticle 1950 X 2 1952 (double 952) 1954 SF 1955 NSF (hanging five?) 1955 SF 1955 NSF? 1956 1957 X5 1958 X3 1959 X5 (including one that looks AU (no idea how to grade these)
Thats everything that I have examined closely still haven't looked at all the 70s, 83, 85s I set aside yet.

took another look at the 1955s all SFs with one having a die clash near the last five making its a hanging five SF, also just came across a 1962 guitar variation

Nice range of early dates, godless! The 1952 double date and the 1962 guitar are worth the price of admission right there. You mentioned that the 1962 is a guitar variation -- is it the harp variety or a different variety altogether?

well they're fun finds to be sure, but they will most likely grade poorly, the 1962 is essentially the harp version although instead of 3 "strings" it has five also found both of the 1983 variations (near and far beads) both in pretty awesome condition, at the very least AU maybe even Ms but I'm no expert, more news to come.
