I had a rant (https://goccf.com/t/128716#1129533) in another thread about the 1860-O Dollar that I returned in exchange for a few other "common" coins to keep the sale with the store. I am having serious thoughts about sending them back (they were mailed out today, supposedly) unopened, for a refund (they don't seem to be my "cup of tea") and going elsewhere for the original goal; No Motto Seated Liberty dollar. What do you guys think of these? ...or am I getting desperate?

PCGS VF35 (asking $595)

ICG XF40 (asking $625)
Seated-Liberty-Dollar---Am-I-Getting-Desperate?

Seated-Liberty-Dollar---Am-I-Getting-Desperate?

PCGS VF20 (asking $475)
Seated-Liberty-Dollar---Am-I-Getting-Desperate?

Seated-Liberty-Dollar---Am-I-Getting-Desperate?

I am not sure of ICG (I would probably have it sent to PCGS)?

Time to breathe...thanks for your interest!

I like the looks of the first one, if the price is fair I would buy this coin
if I needed it for my collection.

I'd like many in that shape if I could afford them, I would.

Thanks Captain Morgan, that is what I am leaning towards myself, however I placed a third as a potential candidate, which is a little easier on the wallet. The seller is at Long Beach for the weekend and won't be able to confirm wether these are still in the inventory and offer his best prices.

I like the first one but think the asking price of $595 for a VF is a bit steep. You should be able to get a full EF for that price.

Prices are high. I'd only buy the third one and would pay no more than $375.

I agree that the "asking prices" are too high, I like the first at PCGS VF35 (it would share the same grade as my w/motto).

The seller is at a coin show and won't be able to haggle until Monday.

You may just want to be patient if you don't see the "right" coin for you. I think everyone agrees that the Seated dollar is one of the tougher holes to fill in a US type set.

Personally I'd pass on all three. Don't settle, there are nice Seated dollars out there in this price range. The last one is nice but not at $475.

oih8, my friend, you are getting desperate. The gash in the right field on the first one just hurts me too much with the hairlines on it.

Second one...ugh. Looks almost like a quick wipe with a brillo hit it.

Third...nasty toning and bad eye appeal.

Thats how *I* see them. I would keep looking were I you.

If you're willing to pay those prices, I think you can get a MUCH more appealing coin for your 7070 that you'll be proud of a couple decades from now. I love all Seated Liberty dollars, but be patient. I've seen some in those price ranges with eye appeal that blows the pictured ones away (in my eye). Some VF-XF are just stunning, some not so much. Just sayin.
